Recreational Drone Flying Park

The parks are designated areas where Barcaldine Regional Council approves the flying of recreational drones in accordance with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) rules, regulations and recommendations. For more information please visit CASA's website.

Rules of the park

You are only allowed to launch and fly your remotely piloted aircraft/drone in this designated park without prior consent of Barcaldine Regional Council if:

• you are flying for fun and recreational purposes and
• your aircraft weighs no more than 2kg and
• your aircraft is electric and
• you are flying in a manner that does not cause a hazard, endanger, interfere with or cause nuisance to the park, park users or adjoining properties and 
• the operator follows CASA’s safety rules for flying
